power steering pop

over the past 2 weeks ive noticed a little pop that sounds and feels like its comin from right under my feet when im driving. It does it when i turn either to the right or to the left. Any ideas on what's causing this or what the problem could be?

Suspension bits and pieces. My guess would be tie-rod or ball joints. Have someone check out underneath while you move the wheel back and forth. When you see slop in a joint, that's the place to start.

I'd bet $100 your track bar is shot. I had the same issues....had Dodge troubleshoot it only to convince me to replace the intermediate steering shaft as there was a TSB for it on the '02 2500. Picked the truck up after paying the *********** to replace the steering shaft only to have the same issue.

I stopped by Napa and an old dude there behind the counter said "Ever replaced your track bar"? I lifted the truck up and using a bar, had almost 1/2" of play in the ball joint on the end of the track bar.

$277 later and a new Napa track bar solved my issue. That one wore out 45k miles later and now i'm looking at replacing the '98.5-'02 ball joint style with the '03 style:

I'm ordering one of these:

And one of these:

Also, check your inner and outer tie rod ends for any slop (lift up the truck to do this). There is a outside chance your issue is related to a tie rod end, but they don't usually make a knock sound, just give sloppy steering and excessive tire wear when they are worn.
