Smile Power Braking Rev Limit

2002 2500 auto Does anyone know how to bypass the factory rev limit of 2000 rpm when power braking. Trying to spool hard at the track but revs out to 2000 till you let off the brake.

What you are hitting is the torque limiter built into the 01 and 02's. Once boost gets to a certain level (on mine it's about 21psi), the ECU starts to defuel. If you have stock shafts this is probably a good thing.

The only way I know to COMPLETELY override the torque limiting, is to use a BD RAD (racer anti-defueler). The downside to the RAD is that some of the gauges won't work while it's on.

I know the Redline box reduces the torque limiting to a certain degree, and I have heard that the Smarty does the same thing.

I hope this helps...

Paul,
Smarty eliminates the defueling completely. That's what I was told and have never seen it since hooking up the Smarty.
