Please help

Okay so I needed to replace my bearing, my whole axle fell out on me, I’ve got them replaced in the hub and I can not get my hub back on to save my life. On the rear end I need to figure it out because I need to get my truck back on the road as soon as possible. It’s on a 2001 dodge 24V 6spd. Thank you

You would probably get a better response if you supplied the year and model of your truck. Also give some details of what is stopping the assembly from going back together. Presume that you are talking about the rear axle, the one the goes into the pumpkin?

OK, created an account, made one (crappy) post, never logged back in again.

I stopped answering them. (Even though they seem to be the most frequent posts on here)

yes the rear axle, Im honestly not sure, I’ve got about a 1/4 in gap, not setting all the way on there

It's been a long time since I stabbed a rear axle...I sometimes had to wiggle it a little while turning it slightly...The inner end has to be raised slightly to hit the hole as I remember...Was there a steel snap ring on the inner end of the axle?......Ben

The first thing you have to do IMHO is clean the area completely, you cannot expect those bearings to fit on the axle shaft otherwise and all that grime will just eat your seal in no time .. the tolerances are very tight, take the seal back out and try sliding the inner bearing onto the shaft to see where it is hanging up .. there has to be a bur on it which you will have to sand or file off
