I've been told that once you adjust the allen screw, drive the truck in a figure 8 to help the worm gear set.

 

Makes sense. I'll have to try that. Now to find a parking lot empty enough to do that.

 

i gota 98 12valve changed three boxes one reman from napa,psc box, and then a brand new factory box the factory box was the ticket but it was about 750.00 ... i fell your pain ,,,and wallet feels it to ,,, nothing like a good product fails on you........

 

Blue, I have a brand new box from PSC and I have the same amount of slop. I'm not impressed with PSC boxes right now.

 

I'm on my 4th in a year. The first one wouldn't correct from the right. The 2nd one would puke fluid out of the cover during low speed manuvering (like backing a trailer). The 3rd one wouldn't correct from the left. And now this one has no response in the middle. I don't understand how some people have such good luck with their boxes but yet I've had 4 of them and they've all had problems.
