Quick question that believe it or not, I hadn't really thought of until the past few days. Do performance injectors effect fuel pressure? If so, how or why?


Not sure if this is a "Duh!" type answer, but when you don't know... you don't know. It seems like they would, because they are putting more fuel in, but...

 

Nope. Not unless your already not getting enough fuel pressure. Mine truck with stock injectors i could draw it down the same amount as i can with large injectors 150hp sticks.

 

MINIMUM FUEL PRESSURE on a 2nd Gen 24V is 10 PSI - PERIOD!



So if you large injectors are drawing pressure below 10 PSI it WILL cause damage to the VP44 (Injection pump)

 

I know about the minimum pressure needs, but I'm wondering if the larger injectors will directly cause a drop in fuel pressure wether it be during idle or WOT... or any where in between.

 

Mopar man that is really what i've been looking to see for a long time now. I've been reading over 5 is fine and unknowingly runnin down my VP i'm pretty steady at 7 once it warms up, is that because it thins out when the fuel warms? It's a bit higher with cold motor.
