pcm connector

Hi all, dumb question.

I'm thinking about rigging a mystery switch for the
TC thing. Have been totally unable to take off an
electrical connector for the last 40 years without
breaking off a tab or something.

So, what's the secret technique or magic phrase to
remove the pcm connector at the firewall? Without destroying it, that is.
Truck is an '01, seems to be a tab or something
on the top that maybe slides?

Thanks,
Lowell

Two tabs, one on top and one on bottom. If I remember correctly, I used 2 small screwdriver blades to pry the tabs up and back.

Thanks, that was the ticket. So easy it confused me.

Just needed to squeeze the 2 tabs and the connectors pulled right off.

So, about a dozen trips to the hardware store, $50 bucks on a bunch
of nothing (wire, connectors, etc), I put it all back together, and now
I can't get the tc to hunt at all. Switch on or switch off. So I don't
know if I did any good or not.

Didn't have the relay jumpered (that was another trip to the store)
on my test drive. Didn't really act any different with the switch on
or off. Will test again in a bit with jumper.

Figure unplugging and plugging it back in maybe ended up
with a better connection, or reset something.
At least now I've got an option when it starts acting up again.
