p1693 = p0216 for me :-(
p1693 = p0216 for me :-(
Looks like I've lost my first injection pump, not really running bad, just not right, no check engine light but decided to pull codes, only code was a 1693 in odometer, had chrysler dealer in Circleville hook up his ODB2 tool and he got a p0216 code.
Apparently DC is also having dealers check for LP failures also when changing IP's now. Talked to 4 different dealers and they all said 1-2 days to diagnose, they all said this includes running a flow check test to get started, then, with DC on phone, running a flow check test again, + some other tests before they can DC will even let then get a IP for warrenty. NONE were to excited about have to deal with DC on this. The Dealer I wanted to go to didn't want to do it because of the hassels that DC gives for doing this kind of work on vehicles they did not sell. He stated that when you do to many of these on vehicles you did not sell DC starts to really question other warrenty work you do as well, + because of the run-around DC gives you you will NOT make any money doing this job.
Im going to try to get a guage port installed by the dealer so they will not question that for warrenty work. Getting up in miles now and want to start watching stuff because I will be the one paying for repairs soon, not DC.
It will be hard leaving my truck with someone else for a few days.... almost as bad as trusting someone else with your little girl.

I know what you mean I'll going through this soon. I got hosed last time they changed my LP they charged me for a fuel filter change $100 so I'm bringing my own this time. Looks like both my LP & V44 will have to be changed
That is interesting that the 216 DTC didn't come up on the dash.....I was under the impression that a code reader could retrieve that code without having to go to DC to put their scanner on it.....does a 216 not come up on a code reader?.....anybody know?
mine never came up on the dash either....but i had all the symptoms. Diesel dude....I had the same thing for mine, except they only charged me 60, and that was because i brought my own in. I paid 14 dollars at cummins, and it takes 2 mins too change it, but they still charged me the 60 for them to do it!!
