I've seen a few , its not a new idea , but is a big deal to do , have not heard of any kits out there .
Lots of custom work to do .
What is your reason for this ?
You should go to the user control panel and fill in details of your truck .

Scheid Diesel has a kit and p-pump conversion. It will cost just under $1800 for the kit but you'll need to find a P7100 IP. They will sell you a P7100, but then you'll need a P7100 core or pay the charge. They won't accept a VP-44 as a replacement for the core charge.

Real nice folks and very knowledgeable on anything realted with the Dodge Cummins.

Why do you want to convert?

Maybe for the same reason I want to. My '96 3500 had 340,000 hard miles and the motor had never been touched. Ugly as hell, but never once did I doubt the truck getting me home. Sold it to a guy with a tree service, he pounds it every day and loves the truck.

Now for my '02 3500. 151,000 and I'm scared of it everyday. Sure is purty but it has had a dead petal issue since I bought it. Can't afford to fix it right now, dealer won't, and frankly it sucks that I should have to. Seems I have a million mile motor with a 50,000 mile pump on it.

That's why I would change. Not only would the pump live forever but you could probably run mud through it with no problem. Every one has to ask can the VP44 take WVO or UMO or etc and you get all kinds of answers but those questions just don't come up with a p pump. And how many guys have changed the pump two times? Or even three? Maybe you could argue they are doing something wrong, maybe not, but just having the discussion means something isn't right. Ever broke a p-pump?

So if I am going to spend the money I would rather spend a little more and fix it once and never worry about it again.
