Overhead on ISB

Can you adjust the valves on an ISB? I was just wondering if this needs to be done...truck has 188K...and if it needs to be done what are the intake and exhaust specs and how you adjust the bridges? Thnaks

Allowable lash on the intake is .007" - .015", exhaust is .015" - .030". Like was said, nominal is .010 and .020.

Ok thanks...what about the bridges? Do you adjust those like you would on the 855 Big Cam Series? Or the N-14/M-11 series?

No clue on how you adjust the bridges on those engines, but the lash on the ISB is checked between the rocker arm and the bridge. No other check or adjustment needed. The tech article really lays it out well with pics. Easy as pie to do as well.

I wonder if setting the lash on the tight side would drop EGTs by increasing cam duration a little bit.

Need to be careful, too tight and you'll start burning valves.

There are no adjustments on the bridges, they just float in there.

yea valves adjust the same as the n14 or m11. put feeler guage between bridge and rocker and adjust the setscrew and lock it done to spec with the lock nut.
