One Bolt Caliper... Help Please

So... My pass side wheel bearing exploded on the way home and I limped it the rest of the way... when I went to pull the caliper I noticed the top of the spindle was went and the top bolt of the caliper sheared off!

I'm trying to avoid pulling the spindle to fix the issue... tried to drill and tap, but because the hole is bent, the drill bit "walked" and I could not drill a clean hole (fresh bit too!)

The slot that the caliper sits in seems to limit it's movement.. I put everything back together and drove around my property and the back road I live on and the brakes felt good....

I need to get this fixed asap... any suggestions? I was thinking about trying to locate a new spindle

In the past I have attempted to tack weld a smaller bolt to the broken bolt and then back it out.

You can also try drilling it out the largest size under the bolt by a couple thou's and then try to ez out it.

This is where anti-seize is golden, be sure and use it on re assembly....

Or hold a nut over it and weld down through the nut. Left handed drills are a godsend for things like this but you say you have already drilled it?

yeah... when I drilled it out the bit wanted to walk around and now the hole is ob-long and I can not tread it... prolly have to drill it out and weld in a nut... not doing it for a while... just replaced my starter.. both batteries... driver side bear/rotor.. and front pads...
