Thumbs up Oil pressure sensor

Hi my first post. I have seen a web site on this forum that shows diagram of sensor positions. Several hours of searching can not find it. Anyone know where it is?

Kind of a beach to reach unless you go through the wheel well on the drivers side. At least that worked for me with a really long ratchet extension. Some guys say that they just crawl on top of the engine and can reach down and remove it. I can't remember the size of the socket - it's a fairly big'un though. Also, if you can get the part at the Cummins dealer, it's a much lower price than the Dodge dealer.

I assume that your OEM gauge has crapped out on you?

Post back if you have any other questions or problems with it.

Cheers!

Mike

Yep, I replaced mine last summer. The original took a large (1¼") socket to remove. The new one took a smaller socket, though I can't remember the size. Both sensors needed a deep socket to be able to clear the wire connector, and the sensor itself fits in a little nook that is slightly recessed into the block, making it impossible to use a open end wrench. The new sensor that I bought (3 wire sensor) was just under $100.
