Oil Pressure Sender correct P/N?

Ok, I did a bunch of searching here and i can't figure out exactly what oil pressure sender unit I need.

I found:

Cummins p/n: 4921511

or

Cummins p/n: 4088390

This is going in a 2001 24v

I'm reading 0psi oil pressure, which, since I drove back about 15 or 20 miles with it like that, pretty sure that there's nothing wrong with the oil pump.

Also... should I just order from schied? Or is there someplace else to get it from?

Thanks!

I hope you get the help you need. My truck this weekend acted up also. I was cruising at 65 when all of a sudden, the oil pressure gauge went down to 0. I immediately pulled over and checked the oil. It was full, and the truck never did run hot. I believe I have the same problem as you, so I will call Cummins to find out which is the correct part number.

If my recall is working, 4921511 supercedes 4088390. It was somewhat of a runaround with the local cummins dealer, but we eventually worked it out. Turns out they are the same part.

I found one on www.mydodgeparts.com

$71

part number: 5012991-AB

I ordered it, hopefully it's the right one... otherwise I'll be ordering the cummins one.

Got the new sensor and installed it... all of about 20 or so minutes of work...

everything is working perfectly once again.

this forum saved the day again for me... I don't even want to think what the repair would have cost at the ***********.
