If I remember correctly 18 sounds right. I don't have access to my book right now, but I remember thinking wow that's not much.

I was told 15 ft# by a service center before I took mine to the dealer (2 weeks ago) to be serviced. So my guess would be 18. Again only a guess.

Good luck and I was also told to start from the center of each side left and right, then move one bolt front to one bolt back, then alternate sides to one bolt back to one bolt front, each side, until you reach the ends of the pan being the front and rear bolts. It helps the gasket seal better and push any RTV out of the gasket instead of into the pan.

thanks guys....

i agree 18 does sound light....i was waiting to hear 25-30 but wasnt sure...i knew the others of 80 or 60 were way off...

thanks again.

the reason i ask and maybe you can help out....i seem to have the drip drip syndrome i have degreased the bottom of the truck and best i can tell is oil pan, like i said i searched for "leaks" and general areas of "leaks" and have seen more than one person with the oil pan issue....i emptyed puke...degreased and drove around for a few days..it seems to be the oil pan...i have 2-3 spots on the ground in a 25 cent piece size consistantly in the same area...crawled under there and can see the bolts with oil driping off them...looks like the same area i see on the ground...

i know it is a diesel and can and will leak a little, but daily drops drive me up the wall...if it was a drop or two evey few weeks i wouldnt mind...but every morning i see fresh oil...

gonna start here with the oil pan and work away from that if that is not it...

Bolt torque is 18 ft lbs. I end up snugging mine up about every 3rd oil change. It doesn't sound like much but that's what it is

I'm having oil leaking issues that I've been trying to track down since I bought mine last August. The oil ends up down by the oil pan on the drivers side but seems to originate from up above.I'm going to check the lifter gallery cover bolts. The down side is I have to remove the IP,fuel lines and fuel filter housing.I'll post in a few weeks if this cures my oil leaks. BTW, I changed the vac pump seal, but that didn't help.
