Oil leak

ok I have been leaking oil for some time but last few years do not drive the truck much

so I am tired of the puddle under my truck wherever I park and I dumped uv dye in the oil, highest spot on the engine I can see the dye is where all the metal fuel lines go into the rear of the vp44 any ideas???

it is not the cam sensor I can see it is dry and not the valve cover on top of engine

I would hate to just start tearing into this with no idea where it is coming from

possible oil pressure sensor leaking, it is located in that area on the side of engine block. Could also be tappet cover gasket.

Have you looked between the vacuum pump and powersteering pump, common for seal to leak, also there is a oil return line on bottom of vacuum pump, besides these to locations not sure unless a gasket to motor failed on injection pump or vacuum pump.

The best way I've found to diagnose an oil leak is to soak the oily area with brake clean, then blow the area dry with compressed air until it is spotless and dry, including all seams and crevices where the oil may have originated. If a large area is oily and dirty, it's best to start with a good complete engine shampoo before doing the "detail work" with the brake clean and compressed air.

Usually after that, running the engine for a very short time should allow you to see where the first small trickle comes from, before a large area is covered.
