Oil Leak

Anyone ever had oil leak from the rear out put yoke of the t-case? And I'm not talking about past the seal, I mean from the center of the yoke, right behind the u-joint? I was changing oil last weak and notices a slight bit of atf slung up on the floor, thought maybe the output seal was leaking. Upon closer inspection, the yoke was only wet right behind the u-joint, the seal was bone dry, and no grease was being slung from the u-joint caps, so it wasn't that either.

Pul the shaft out and check for a crack or pin hole in the center of the yoke. Had that problem a long time ago with a Suburban. The guy converted an overdrive auto to a 3 speed and had to get a different yoke. No one thougt about it at the time, but the yoke was the wrong one and had a factory hole right in the center and all the tranny fluid leaked out.

Replaced one on a customers truck the other day, there is a seal on the yoke. Need a new yoke to fix it.

well, if there is indeed a pin hole, a little JB weld oughta fix that I guess. If its cracked, I kinda hate to risk it getting worse and breaking apart.
