Anyone have any tips on getting one of these filters off?

 

Go to NAPA or Bumper to Bumper ( any parts store with good tools) and get a pair of filter pliers. They look like a cross between channel locks and regular pliers. Get the large ones. They work like a champ. Should have bought them 2 years ago.

 

Watch out for the exposed post on the back of the alternator.<br>It's a 12V + connection and will put out real purty sparks when the wrench hits it..

 

The spark is nice, but its even more fun to find a fuse for it afterwards.
