Seriously, a good oil should contain all the additives in the "package" that you'll need and want.

I have always run Rotella, now switched over to Rotella synthetic (blue bottle) just in time for it to be $22.00 a gallon.

Spend your money on something else. To a certain extent oil is oil. (countdown until Amsoil rep pops in here)

Fuel additive, yes. Especially for climate changes and possible substandard fuel quality.

 

Snake oil additives not needed with quality syn oil. It is possible the chemicals in snake oil can compromise additives in oil.

 

Most Oil additives are snake oil..For instance there is one advertised..and you see a working sample at most parts stores, it clings to every thing..well and good. but according to oil testers (Over in the Porsche forums ) once added to the oil it makes every thing worse ! Don't kill me, I am the messenger.
Also..EPA has had most of the zink and other metals taken out that reduce piston wear.
So far I am still using dell-ow 15/40
But thinking of Brad Penn at they use their own stock and still has the right stuff........granted diesel and Porsche are a diff breed..and I don't know everything yet. But with everything taken out that is good will make those of us that are studying come to a better product.
I am unclear if "Brad Penn" would be OK for a diesel yet...maybe some here know ?

Just checked out their web site,they do carry oil for your diesel.
Knowing what I think I know..If you can afford it, it will be a superior product then what you can get at the 5 and dime store.
