Steering and Brake Problems

Ok, when I start my truck at any time, the steering feels like there is no power steering at all. The brake pedal is hard to push down, it takes some muscle to engage them, and it sticks for a sec when I let off. When the truck warms up, the steering is ok but I get a whine when I turn the wheel also with a vibration. And the brakes work but I push the pedal down until finally they engage and its really jerky. Also it looks as tho I have a leak coming from the power steering pump. Any suggestions, highly appreciated....

Both the power steering and the power brakes get their 'Power' from the power steering pump. Many have suggested using Valvoline Synthetic Power Steering fluid instead of whatever's in there now. Mine used to groan quite a bit, and changing to the Valvoline synthetic helped.
