OFE install problem

I just finished installing a new SB OFE clutch in my 02 2500 4x4. While the truck is not running I can row through the gears. Once the truck is started it won't go into gear. New pilot bearing & throw out bearing. Install went pretty much without a hitch other than a little while to get the input shaft started. I also installed new SB hydraulics last week BEFORE the new clutch and everything worked fine. Also if I put the truck in gear and start it the clutch wants to disengage just above the floor. It was suggested to pump the clutch pedal several times at wait a few and do it again and again, to "reset" the SB hydraulics. I did this 4 or 5 times and it may have helped a little but is still a bear to get into any gear easily. The pedal pressure seems fine other than it is defiantly easier that the stock setup. Anyone have any ideas?

TIA
Phil

Sounds like air in the hydraulics. Clutch not disengaging.

Have you tried adjusting it out a little more?

The guys at South Bend are pretty good at troubleshooting over the phone, they would probably be the most helpful on this.

Well after driving it around today, the clutch engagement is about right, in the middle to upper pedal travel. I'm going to change the fluid and see if that helps trying to get it to go into reverse easier. At this point it is tough to get into reverse. Forward gears are getting better though.

Mine engages right off the floor thru the midway point on the pedal, are you sure you got it adjusted correctly?

It seems to get better every day. I think you were right, air in the hydraulics. Drove it tonight and it working nicely. The rattling noise with the clutch out idling will take some getting used to though....
