Question NV5600 Fill level?

Changed the oil in my 6 speed to Redline MTL today. Thought it was done draining, but I jacked up the back end and more came out. Then I jacked up just the passenger side, and even more came out (drain hole is on the driver side). When I was thought it was finally done draining, I closed up the drain and proceeded to only put about 8.5 pints (calls for 9.5 pints) before I could put no more in. I jacked up the back again to see if this would allow me to get more in, but it did not. I assumed that at this point, the oil level was to the bottom of the fill hole and closed it up.
2 questions:
1) I only pulled the bottom bolt on the PTO cover to drain the oil. Would I have gotten more to drain had I pulled the entire PTO cover off?
2) Is this normal? Am I doing any damage? I read where Infidel had said it was bad to overfill the tranny, so I did not pull the shift boot/top cover on the tranny and put the rest in from above.

Theres a magnet in there....probably would have been a good idea to pull the cover and clean it out as much as possible. Heard that you can add extra fluid from one of the top hole on the plate.....but that will take you past the fill hole.

Dont know about the overfilling thing.

What the Dr. said is right, you should pull the PTO cover and clean the magnet. 1 pint low shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Filled to the fill hole is considered full. I would leave it just as it is.

Is there a gasket between the PTO cover and the tranny? Is so, should this be replaced when the PTO cover is taken off?

Thanks,
Rob
