NV4500 difficult to shift into reverse
This truck has over 220K miles, but the tranny was rebuilt last year due to the 5th gear problem. Since the rebuild, it has probably less than 20K miles. I have noticed that sometimes it is difficult to get it into reverse. Most of the time it slips right in to gear with no problem, but occasionally you really have to work at it to get it into gear. No other problems at all with the tranny, 1-5 work perfectly all the time and it shifts very smoothly, just reverse is a problem. Anyone else experience this?

I have the NV5600 but mine has similar issues. I've never owned a vehicle (new or old) that didn't have some binding issues with the shifter at least occasionally.
Have you tried the age old tricks that usually work? First one I always try is just letting the clutch back out then trying again. If that doesn't work I'll throw it in 2nd and then try reverse. On the rare occasion that doesn't work I'll apply steady pressure on the shifter going into reverse and let the clutch out slowly, it'll grab the shifter and slide right into reverse without any problems.
One thing you may want to look at is how your clutch pedal is adjusted. On an older car of mine I was having grinding issues going into 1st and reverse (all the time, no matter what) and it turned out that even with the pedal basically on the floor it hadn't entirely disengaged the clutch, adjusted the throw a little bit and it worked like new!
