No start when engine at full temp

Alright you 2nd Gen guys, I bought a 99 auto to add to my collection.

1. Can't check codes with key trick
2. No FP guage yet
3. 172k miles
4. No mods
5. scared to change the filter cause that's sometimes the kiss of death you know.

Ok truck starts on first key turn when it's a cold engine.

But if I drive to town and get it up to temp then it will not start for 30-45 minutes cool down time.

Point me in the right direction please. How do I get codes from a 99?

pull codes with the obd2 port under the dash on the drivers side. ive seen injection pumps bad that caused the hard start when hot. you can hose them with cold water to cool it off but i would do it on a vp44.

My 2001 is doing the same, the only code i got was po234, which is high boost pressure. I am thinking it might be electrical problem, just not sure where. When truck starts it is on all 6 right away and runs good on highway.
Starts perfect when cold. I would hate to put new injection pump on and have the same problem.I am watching this thread closely.
