no start?? vp44 caused maybe??

Hey guys, I still gotta get my vp changed but it scared me 2 nights ago. Haha I had JUST picked up my girlfriend and the truck was kinda hot (i was late) well I shut it off, picked her up, got back in, left the key "on" for a little bit (30 secs) and went to start it, but didnt even crank....turned off, then went to start and still no crank.... it wasnt the worst possible time that it could have happend so, not too big of a deal lol but after i left it off for a min it started up.... The no crank thing makes me think its the starter/ electrical contacts, but since the VP44 is goin out i'm wondering if this could be a cause of my situation. Thanks ya'll

Does not sound like the vp44, probably starter or associated wiring. A bad injection pump won't keep the engine from cranking-it'll just keep it from starting.

No it didnt even turn over....thats why I was wondering about the starter/conections... after letting it sit like i said it started up normally... but before it wouldnt even turn over...like the bateries were TOAST... Thanks for the replies though, and keep them coming!

sounds like what the solenoids on older chevys use to do. It would get he soaked and wouldn't start till it cooled off. Have advance or autozone check the batteries first and i think they can do a starter draw test too (not sure though). If the batteries check out fine i would have to look at the starter.
