no power and black smoke

no power and black smoke

hey guys i got a 98.5 and i just put a new vp and lp in and still got no power and no turbo boost.i checked all my elek conetors and tested my map sen and checked all my boots to my turbo all are good.i tryed this stuff with my edge box on and off still the same i pull a p230 code can someone give me a idea what to do next.

Check the air filter and for holes in the intercooler.

if you take the intake hose off and run it you should be able to tell if the turbo is spinning, how much play in the shaft?

thanks guys i did all that stuff already.turbo is tight and boots to turbo are all good..what do ya think is next todo..

Do you have guages on your truck... (Fuel, Boost, Pyro) - Please report these numbers it might give a clue. If you don't have guages you really should go get some....

Check you intercooler boots for holes... What kind of boost pressure you seeing? (If any)

What kind of fuel pressure do you have? Really kind of wondering with a P0230 (Fuel Pump primary circuit) error.

yes i got guages and i olny get 10 psi on turbo and i get 15psi fuel and my pyro reads about 1200 at full load..

At full load the boost should be up to about 18-20 PSI! You not making enough boost!

In return the EGT Temp is rising... My normal temp under load on a 6% grade in 5th gear is about 800-1000*F

Look for leaking boots from the turbo to the intercooler and up to the manifold.
Make sure your wastegate isn't stuck open.
You might want to recheck the turbo again for bearing play..
