No part throttle responce

My nephews truck is acting up He said that at off idle and slow acceleration or if floored it is okay but in the mid position it is like the fuel gets shut off.truck is all stock I am not sure of the year it is a vp pump though. APPS problem?

My guess would be apps..

I just when through something like this, but it wasn't the same.
when mine ran it was fine..no dead spots...then at times when going, just cruising down the road, nothing..dead...floor it..well maybe it decide it was time to go again..sometimes stop and restart..it would be fine.

replaced the VP and lift pump..after checking and resetting/adjusting the apps..
problem is now gone..VP and Air Dog..
I'd add it runs like new but I have no idea what that was like. I bought the truck used
