Hi, My airbag light is on, the Cruise control does not work and the remote mounted radio controls on the steering whell do not work. Any suggestions?

Clockspring

 

I was afraid someone would say that . I was hoping a fuse or something easy. Does anyone know how to replace the clockspring?

 

There is a recall on the clockspring so call the dealer and give them your vin and see if it's been done yet.

 

The recall is for 2001 model year. I checked the DC website using my VIN, I am not going to be that lucky....

 

Sorry, didn't know what years it was for. I was thinking it was for 98-02 but I've been wrong before...atleast that's what my wife tells me.

 

What the heck is the clock spring? I'm interested becasue my cruise control doesn't work either but it does illuminate on the dash though??!!And my front door speakers stopped working also!!??

 

The clockspring in located on the steering column under the steering wheel. It is basically a coil of wires that allow the steering wheel to turn and not pull out the connections to the Horn, Cruise CONtrol, Audio Controls and the air bag.

 

check your vacuum line in the area above the fuel filter... some times changing the filter will cause the vacuum to come unplugged. don't know about your speakers
