OK.... So finding this thread after losing my cruise control engage .... HVAC door ops, and 4WD, I realized there is a vacuum pump. Crawled around in the snow and slush, finally located it (forward part of PS pump), followed the line out the side to the firewall where it is disconnected. Disconnected from something, but what?

I started the engine to determine that this is in fact a vacuum line and working .... it was (is). But FOR THE LIFE OF ME I cannot find where it connects! I followed the Cruise controls line to the firewall where it goes though to the cabin, but I cannot find any other point where this should connect. I read how it is supposed to cross over the firewall (engine side) to the pass side and tee off to other locations, but not on this one.
Ideas? Anyone have actual pictures or diagrams?

vac lines

thom- i thought the first drop on the drivers side was for the cad unit on front axel and passenger side was for a/c vent controll- id like to find diagrams for these as well as part numbers for factory replacement parts- i went with the posilock on front axel and gave up on the vent controll as my a/c quit years ago- good luck with yours

Thom, if you did not find it yet, the Vacuum line from the pump hooks to a Tee with 3 or 4 lines up by the Hydraboost at the cowl. It should be at about the level of the relays up by the top near the hood line.

Somewhere here there is a picture showing it.

Thanx... I checked out the routing on a friends 97 and found the tee. It was just two connections, and once reattached I got back the HVAC control, but no 4WD. I did mess with the lines at the transx case, so maybe one is not connected well. Didn't try the CC because of the extreme cold here (below zero F) but will chase it down later.

Thanx for the help!!!!!
