no 4wd

so i went in the ditch last week when I was playing around with my truck and now it won't lock in 4 wd. I needed it to get out of the ditch it would work so luckey me I got mud tires so I dug my way out in 2 wd but is there anything that could be unpluged or broke. I looked at everything and it all looks ok but no 4wd. Thanks for any input.

Check vacume lines going to front diff. if you have vacume its the actuator on diff. that is bad. If no vacume at actuator its the switch on top of transfercase or a broke line going to actuator. Nate

That was a leap.
Did you find your vacuum problem?
There are tons of posts on here about the 53 block. It will be stamped on the block. Of course, if you have an external coolant leak/crack, you probably have a 53 block.

Push button or stick shift 4wd? If push button, the actuator motor is a fairly common problem.

check to see if you lost your cruise controll and if you only have defrost and cannot change location of air from trucks blower- these are clues to open vaccum lines

do you like cheese and crackers?

I did just try my ac and it would only come out the defrost. I had my tranny replaced I never tryed my 4wd. So you think lines are not hooked up or something like that.

Very good chance your trans guy did not hook something up or broke a line reinstall'in trans. The steel lines on truck are prone to rusting out. The plastic lines will melt or crack. Check along cowl area to see if there are any lines unhooked those would be going to your defrost/ air door. Otherwise start tracing lines with truck running you'll find the bad spot if you take your time. Nate

Was going to post the same question, my 4 wheel drive and my cruise are not working, never checked the defrost. Just wondering if its not a vaccum line how difficult is changing the accuator by myself, I havent checked anything yet mind you. Thanks!!!
