New VP44 now no start

This truck is a 2002 6speed with a quadzilla chip and glacier fuel system.

Truck ran but was in need of a new injection pump. I replaced with a Industrial Injection Hot Rod pump now the truck wont start. Has 8 psi of fuel pressure at VP44 and injector lines are loose with no sign of fuel. I put on a Snap on scanner and no codes. I watch the scanner when trying to start the truck and it never changes the "fuel shut off" its always on. That singnal wire is lite blue with red strip that runs to the VP44, it is dead when cranking and then when you turn the key completly off it hits 12 volts just for a second. I tested the other wires that run to the pump and all are working?? I dont know what else to look for..

Start by unhooking the chip/quadzilla and see what happens.

Just in case you didn't...
Did you bleed the line leading to the VP44 using your pusher pump? Blip the starter and back to the 'ON' position and the pump will cycle for awhile.

I still have the standard filter housing and start there by removing one of the 1/8 NPT fittings. Once I have a minor fuel spill, I crank it back down and then crack the feed line to the VP, blip the starter as described and look for a rag drenching fuel mess before tightening.

If you've done that and still don't get fuel at the injector fittings, call Industrial Injection first thing tomorrow...

Good Luck.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Take the connector for lift pump and hot wire it to 12v and ground. Make sure and observe polarity. The black wire is ground.YOu can now run the lift pump continiouslly for several minutes. This will purge the system through the VP44. Now with injector lines slightly loose at cyl head crank engine. You should get fuel squirting after just a few seconds. Snug three lines down and crank. It should start. After a couple seconds shut down and tighten all injector lines. It should start and clear itself within a few seconds. If this does not work after two attempts you may have electircal troubles.

I craked the fuel line going to the injection pump from the lift pump and there was fuel spray. Lines are purged, just nothing at the cylinder head. This is like my 15th pump I have replaced and I have never come accross something like this. I called industrial injection today and sat on hold for over 45 mins before I gave up on them so I called back and got sent to the operators voice mail.. Im thinking its the pump and there going to want me to send it in my cost for shipping and my cost for taking it off and on twice. Plus this is going to take about a week without a truck and then they'll fix it and tell me there was nothing wrong and send the fixed unit back to put on and all will be good but I will be out time and shipping for a 1900.00 dollar pump that should have worked..

Update:
Industrail sent out another pump which I received this morning, I took the other off installed the new and same thing, no start and no fuel at injector lines. I called Industrial talked to Brett for about 30 mins on the phone and he was telling me something was wrong with the truck, thats it not there pumps. After he told me I should change my TPS sensor and clean my MAF sensor I knew this guy didnt know crap about these trucks. He was talking to another guy in the back ground that is there VP44 goorou, they stated that the truck has a wiring problem and there pumps are fine. After I told them that I have checked every possible thing, they sort of gave up on helping me. I told them I will figure it out and call them back. After throwing my phone I went back out to work on this truck. I pulled off there pump and reinstalled the original pump that ran but has a timing issue. After cranking it once and bleeding 3 injectors the truck fired right up!
Now this is a customers truck and I have pulled and replaced the pump 3 times, they want me to pay shipping back for there pumps, plus I lose all the labor of doing the job three times and I still havent even changed the pump. I guess I will be looking at a differnt company for a VP pump. Let this be a lesson to all. Careful who you chose for a pump company, I had called and left Brett 2 messages 1 on Friday and 1 on Monday and he never returned my calls. Customer service just isnt there. Now tomorrow I need to figure out what there going to do for me about these HotRod pumps.

as someone who was in the parts business for 15+ years...

parts can and do fail... brand new..

when they do fail.. it's usually in batches... for the same issues that affected one... usually apply to all identical parts mfg at the same time.
