New MAP wire harness for 01 CTD

I was talking to the parts guy at the local dodge house. He was telling me that the new MAP sensors are a new design and have to get a new wire harness for them.

the harness was around 37 and the new MAP sensor was 167.

Anyone hear of this yet?

Did he say what the design change was for?

I can't see too much that would need to be changed wrt to the MAP sensor, especially that would require a new harness but not result in a programming change to the ECM.

BTW...which dodge house do you go to in N. Dallas?

The only thing I can think to simplify Dodges inventory, and see a few extra parts, they are putting the same sensor on 01's and 02's now. This would require a new haress on the 02's.

You only need the adapter harness on a 2002 truck.

The prices quoted to you are a bit high.

Check the link below for the P/N's shown.

P/N 4921505 SENSOR, MAP (2001-2002)

P/N 3104228 ADAPTER HARNESS (REQUIRED FOR 2002 TRUCKS ONLY)
