New Help - PS Pump dog ear align!
I was able to get the PS pump out by itself. Trying to install the new one.
I am having a devil of a time getting the dogs to line up.
Any way I can manually crank the engine slightly with a wrench until the ps slides into the vac pump?
Tried a mirror, and think I am close
Thanks

gott'er done.
Took awhile. Nothing like a blind mate on the dog ears of the vac pump to take a chunk of your day.
Plus, replacing the lines to the steering gear are a pain also. Almost no room to get a tool in there.
Must be a lot of dodge mechanics the size of 10 year olds.

I replaced my PS pump not too long ago and it took a LOOOOONG time to get them to line up just like you. It finally went in about the time I was going to give up. This last week I rebuilt my vacuum pump and took the two out as one unit...much easier. Next time I'll just take the whole contraption out and make my life a little easier.
The trick is to NOT remove the lines at the pump (except for the low pressure, or return lines) unhook the other ends of the line then pull the pump out and if required remove the lines on the bench!!!! sometime you have to work outside the box, also you can put a wrench on the alternator nut and have someone roll the engine over while you push the PS into the Vacuum pump. Its pretty hard to do as a one man job but it can be done. BTW pull and replace as one unit repair on the bench (with lines attached) and you will be done in half the time it takes to do it any other way
i just put my pump in it was a 3 hour job i removed the vac pump and powerstering pump as one i should have ben done soner but iwas working in the rain and at night now i can ster i can move my 5th wheelcamper out of the way and get in to the garge and re check evry thing for leeks
