Re:New flash for cold weather performance?!!

There's been a bit of discussion of this here and other boards.

Here's a link to one of them here

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...;threadid=8463

Consensus seems to be it works sometimes and doesn't sometimes.
Main problem seems to be the techs can't get the "enable" to stick in the PCM.
Basically the PCM has to be updated with the new program (in 2001 and older) then has to be enabled with another step.

good luck

phox

Re:New flash for cold weather performance?!!

Sorry here too.
Saw "High Idle" and had flashbacks.

That reflash doesn't look like it will do anything for high idle.

Large print says:

NOTE: THIS CHANGE WILL HAVE NO EFFECT ON PERFORMANCE DURING WARM WEATHER OR WHEN STANDARD GRADE DIESEL FUELS #1 OR #2 ARE USED. (referring to sub-grade #1 diesel fuel)

I doubt if "sub-grade #1" diesel is used anywhere below Canada, if even that far south.
I read that to be below #1 Deisel, like straight kerosene or something.
