Need Help with 99 Ram, no start.

Pulled out of drive way and truck died. Threw a code of P 1688, so put inlined fuel pump, still no start. Tested VP with cummins test tool, indicated that VP was bad. Installed new VP, still no start, but will run with cummins tool hooked to VP44.

ECM died????? Beleive that is what Cummins controller wiring/switch does. Test whether VP or ECM. Perhaps lucky and just some wiring damage!!!!!
