NAPA air filters

I did a search and could not find a positive answer. I'm changing my oil today and need to change my air filter too. My air filter has about 38k original miles on it (ya I know) I don't want to drive 100 miles round trip to the Cummins store, sooooo is the napa replacement filter ok?

I order mine on line and have a couple extra ready to go. It's a good idea to have a few extra fuel filters around as they can plug up with bad fuel. I'd leave the old one in and buy a stock of fliters.

None of the above numbers would come up on the NAPA site...and I can't find a listing for fuel filter at Scheid...this can be frustrating...where do most of you buy at?

This is the best way to go... You don't have to worry about greasing the gasket and having dirt leak pass the seal on the stock air box... So far I figure I will replace my BHAF filter about every 50K-75K miles. Compared to every 30K on the stock filter... The BHAF is about 3X bigger than stock elements...

Wix makes the filters for Napa. All I use is Wix, great filters! Not to mention, you can pick them up real cheap at http://www.fleetfilter.com/index.html

Oh, by the way, the Wix 42790 BHAF is only $29.41!

Is there a pic someplace or a suggested way to install that filter...?

I have been running the Napa Gold 2846 air filters. I left the last one in for 20,000 and the filter minder never moved. According to that web site, it only flows 5 cfm less than the 42790 BAHF. 675 cfm vs. 680 cfm. They cost $30 at my local Napa. I will be ordering a few from fleetfilter.

It is so simple you won't believe. Pull the stock airbox out and put the neck of the filter in the tube going to the turbo. Tighten the clamp and you are done. It is that simple.
