Mystery electrical issue
Mystery electrical issue
Hi DTR, I have an 01' 2500 IL6 5.9L 24V with the 6 speed man 4x4. Back story- on my way home from work last night, I stopped for fuel, the truck was not running but the key was in the run position, the radio was on. when i finished fueling and turned the key to the start position, everything died, everything.
I have since checked the continuity of every fuse in both the PDC under the hood and the panel inside on the driver side, no bad fuses. Also both batteries are good. I have checked, per the OEM manual, the connections in the ignition lock, I replaced it about two years ago after an attempted theft, no issues.
With the key anywhere other than the run pos, and the door open I can hear what sounds like a solenoid clicking continuously, under the driver dash, I think inside the CTM.
The truck has no power, brake lights, head lights, dome, dash, radio, I cant even put the windows up.
My local Dodge dealer is closed for easter weekend, so i can not get a new CTM or ignition lock this weekend. I can not find any mention of this issue elsewhere on the net, and am out of ideas. any help you can lend might keep me from repeatedly slamming the door on my head. thank you in advance.

Also check the big power lugs in the PDC box under the hood - the one where the + cable is. I know you checked the fuses, you may have not checked these lugs. Sometimes they can be loose or dirty. Just my .02
Cheers!
