Unhappy my truck died at home depot

never thought it would happen to me,but this morning when driving out of the home depot parking lot my truck started running very ruff and sent out a big cloud of light blue funny smelling smoke.i managed to get into a parking stall and then it died!after about five minutes of looking for obvious troubles under the hood i tried to restart it.usualy one or two cranks and away she goes.it did finaly start after about five seconds of cranking.ahh i thought alls well with big red but to my horror it started to run like crap again and then died and would not start again. got it towed [by a ferd tow truck ] to one of the local dodge dealers.see what they say on monday i guess.i kinda hope its the vp44 cause that would be covered under warranty.would a lift pump be covered?i have 120k kilometers.[75k miles].

forgot to add the only code that shows up is p1693

My truck just died on me alott like what you talked about. To make a long story short, It happened to me twice the second time(2 weeks later) I had it towed to my local Dodge dealer and they failed to tell me the first time they had my truck in the shop they had to put about 5 gal. of diesel fuel in it to get it to start. I failed to mention that they did put on a new lift pump the first time I had it in the shop. Anyway it turned out being the fuel sending unit. My truck was running out of diesel fuel. When I had a quarter of a tank it was EMPTY. Anyway I just wanted to share my story with you to make you aware. Take Care

Mine did the same thing at 50K. They wanted $250 to tow my vehicle to town. So I just put a FASS on my truck. THe truck ran for another 2K and the injector pump went out. Warrenty covered it but I installed a fuel pressure guage just so I could see if I lost fuel pressure.
