MPG update

Went on a trip with about 90% hwy miles. When I pulled up to the pump, my tripometer was on 500.0 miles! Filled up 25 gals and calculated it to 20mpg. This makes me feel good.

Well as long as I keep the skinny pedal out of the carpet I can get 22-23 MPG but you know us Cummins owner we can resist a good pull, race, smoke cloud etc... All requires a bit of pedal mashing into the carpet...

My sig is the average MPG I've got logged since 15K on the clock!

Just spanked a Kid in a Jetta off a light on the way back from the hardware store.
Judging by the reaction I saw in the mirror, his girlfriend wasn't too thrilled about him losing

It figures you would jump in like that... Why did I expect anything different from you...

That makes it all worthwhile Now he has to contend with an unhappy girlfriend and the agony of defeat

SOMEBODY has to keep y'all on yer toes..........

BTW, I try not to flatfoot the throttle any more than necessary.
Diesel is too darned expen$ive to be wasting on stock import cars right now.
Thumper-Skates(Tuners)?.....now that's a whole different kettle o fish.

I'm a tad over 20 with the EZ moved to the 2nd hole and keeping below 65 MPH.
Driving is not as much fun, but it helps the rear pocket.

I just made a 62 mile round trip pulling my crawler (4200 lbs). Grade was aprrox. 6.5 for 10 miles. I could only average 12.2 mpg. I held her steady at 65 mph, 2500 rpm egt's were at 1200. I usually average around 17 mpg (empty)i do have a lead foot though.

I have done much testing on my truck with the three different settings for smoke control in the EZ. What I have found is that the most power from a light is in the heavy smoke setting. But.... for my purposes, the lightest setting gives better mileage, the engine is smoother with light throttle and idle, the engine just feels much smoother and nicer to drive. The lowest smoke setting does not in any way affect full throttle pulling with my work. Best I can figure is that the light setting fuels less at cruise and low boost situations. There is a noticable difference in fuel mileage. It is also easier on the road to keep the boost level lower.

I agree. I've played with many different jumper setting on my EZ, and find the mildest setting to be the best.

The thing that bothered me most about the most aggressive setting is that it makes the last inches of pedal travel worthless. I mean, I want to feel MORE power as I give it MORE pedal! On #3, the EZ spends itself too soon and has nothing left.

On #3, the Cruise control is also hyperactive. It wastes a lot of fuel on the HWY.

The mpg difference between the two setting has been 15 city to 17city for me, so I leave it on #1.

If you want more aggressive fueling down low, you need bigger injectors.

Great!! Now I Find This Out!!,
I've been running my EZ for months on jump setting 3 with stage 3 nozzles wondering why even babying the thing I can squeeze but 13 mpg out of the thing, I changed over to the Comp box and started running on 1X1 daily and noticed at least a 2 mpg increase!

I guess this is a case of shoulda - woulda - coulda.
