Guyssets,

I drive an 02 CTD, and I use Shell Rotella T. It is a 15-40 weight oil. It is an API CI4 oil, which meets the requirements for your 02.

There are many excellent oils available in the 15-40 range.

Make sure you get Shell Rotella brand, or a DIESEL 15-40w. There is a difference in oils.

I think he was just trying to make it clear to get a "Diesel rated" oil.

We would run Shell Rotella in the Cummins motors in the cranes at work. I helped with the removal and reinstallation of a blown motor and the Cummins factory mechanic told me not to run it in my truck unless I changed the oil within 3k or less. He explained that Rotella has high conditioners in it and will harm the motor.
I would like to hear some input on this. I use Delo and am happy with that.

You need 11 quarts...

10 in the crank, 1 in the filter...
