Misses under load and accel.
Posting for a buddy that dont have the luxury of the internet.
The truck: 1999 24 valve automatic QCLB 4x4 110,000 miles.
He says that it misses when he accelerate quickly and when he goes up low grades. i told him to change his fuel filter. He did and it is better but still misses some.
I am thinking its the lift pump. He said his is a in-tank pump. Where is the best spot to test for Fuel pressure. I got a FP gauge and a tapped banjo bolt so should i just put it after the filter? If it is indeed dead what is a good direct replacement a in tank pump or the frame mounted pump? Thanks.
Ohh. whats the min and max specs of Fuel pressure?

Less than 5 psi is hard on the vp-44... From what I've read, fuel pressure usually runs between 9 and 18 psi depending on pump, throttle, filter, etc.
My FASS idles at 16 and drops to about 13 at WOT.
As for in tank pumps, I have no idea...
Have the valves ever been adjusted, recommended at 100k

i had similar symptoms and i fixed it by cleaning all of the grounds and adding a better ground to my Edge Comp (direct to the left fender where the battery grounds to the fender).
Any trouble codes? Try the key cycling to see if any codes show up in the odometer window if you don't have a scanner or Smarty
