map sensor

since everyone calls it a map sensor, i went to autozone to get a price on one cause i thought i needed one. turns out mine was fine but thats not the issue.
the guy at the counter said diesels didnt have a map sensor then proceded to tell me that there is no manifold pressure and thats why they dont have map sensors.
i guess my boost guage is just for looks right.
i just started laughing and walked out............then i went to napa and tryed to have them look up a price for me.
same thing they said no map on diesel.
what gives
maye we should shouldnt call it a map sensor any more....lol

That is what it is. Manifold Air Pressure. Check out this link for part number:https://commcenter.insightbb.com/att...wnload_php.htm
You should learn not to trust the guys at Auto parts stores. If you want real info, come here or go to Cummins.

Dealer also told me the truck doesn't have a MAP sensor, but it has a boost sensor.
