low gear
The transmissions are designed to change gear from the factory.
Please explain the issue and the vehicle in question better.
Changes gear when in 1 or in low range with a 4x4 truck?
Auto truck, I assume?
Please more info on the truck and issue if you want the best advise.
Are you sure the shifter lever on the steering column, is adjusted correctly?
I have seen many old trucks that have the shift indicator on the dash read different than what the transmission is in.
I.E a truck that says it is in 1 gear but actually is in 2 or D.
Not shifting in to OD, could be several issues.
Bad computer, bad wire plug in connection [or just not connected], bad sensor, transmission fluid too hot.
