lost Tac and overdrive

lost Tac and overdrive

i was going down the road yesterday and just lost my RPM guage and over drive. crank position sensor? or tps?


1998.5 2500 24v P-pumped, 150hp injectors custom made, auto meter gauges, 64mm super phaft shaft turbo. built p7100 pump 5000rpm kit lazer cut delivery vavles, 93 fuel lines, ats manifold, full build head port polish vavle job APR studs.

I would think crank sensor since PCM will not turn on or ASD relay until rpm signal is received by PCM.

These will also not work if crank sensor is bad
The tachometer, the charging system, the cruise/speed control, the overdrive switch, and the AC all will not operate.

well my cruise control already dont work because of the p-pump conversion. the truck also wanted to bog down and cut off at a stop unless i put it in neutral.

When my tach acted up, it was the speed sensor on the rear hog's head - speedo still worked fine -
