lost 5th gear need help
i went out for a drive the other day and i lost 5th gear all i need to know is where to get the main shaft nut tool i dont wan to buy it i want to borrow one i live near orlando florida thanks bye
Knock the edge off the chisel so you won't destroy the nut - shape it to fit the notches in the nut - back the nut way off, flush the shaft threads and nut threads with lacquer thinner, use red loctite\equiv on the threads - spin the nut on, hammer-torque it down B4 the loctite sets up - may give you a little headway B4 it backs off again.
Major hint, here, dudes - don't release the go-pedal abruptly in any gear, and specifically in 5th gear - ease off so the driveline doesn't jerk, then ease back into it - same with Cruise: hold the go-pedal with your right foot to maintain speed, reach over with the left foot and tap the brake pedal to release Cruise, ease off the go-pedal - OR - if you can't walk and chew gum at the same time, use the release button on your steering wheel, then ease off the go-pedal.
Learn to drive the NV4500 in that manner, and the nut behind the wheel will have much less trouble with the nut behind 5th gear, eh?
