Loss of power.

I bought a new 3500 Ram dually a couple months ago and love it. The last 3 or 4 days it seems to have lost the low end grunt it's had since I drove it off the lot. When taking off from a dead stop I have to nearly go to the floor with the gas to get it to go. It hesitates for 2 or 3 seconds and then pulls hard kinda like major turbo lag. Up until this week it always pulled hard right off the bat as soon as I would give it any gas. It's only got 2800 miles on it so I wouldn't think the fuel filter would be stopped up by now. I just did the very first oil change on it a week ago and it ran fine for the first couple days afterwards. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Always start with the fuel Pressure Guage, and that will usually answer your questions on these things. Being new It is always possible that there was something that made it's way to the fuel lines or filter to stop them up but unlikely. There again if you install the pressure guage on the outlet side of the filter that will tell you when it needs to be changed. Bad fuel is also the possibilty here. Past that I don't know all the sensors on these new ones to help you there but that new they are not a likely source of the problem anyway. Any extra smoke since this started will also answer some questions to. My truck was less than 10,000 miles when my first lift pump went out.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't checked the fuel pressure as of yet. What psi should I be seeing? I haven't noticed any extra smoke so I guess that rules out the intercooler leaking. I did fill up at a different station this afternoon and it seems to be doing a little better but still hesitates for a second or so from a dead stop. I'll check the fuel pressure over the weekend and if that's not it, I guess I'll take her to the dealership and see what they say. Thanks again.

The dealers always say 5 pounds is good, but from most on here I think you would find that 10 is marginal and 12-15 even better. The problem is that the dealer checks it at idle and 5 may be fine but when you put it under a load it will bottom out and starve it for fuel.
