That would be 4002066. Here is a link to most common part numbers to our trucks. http://www.dodge-diesel.org/faq/down...&faqnr=112
Hope this helps.

Re:A little help please

OK I went to a Cummins dealer today with the # from the link above. 4002066 is a Crank or cam sensor and sells for $30.00.
I called Cummins and the guy told me the TPS is a Dodge only part. Is this true?
I went to my Dodge dealer and had the Dodge # looked up it is 53031575AF ans sells for $275.00 and that is buying it through a guy that works their.

Any other help ?

Thanks.

It may be a Dodge only part. Let me ask this, you have a automatic tranny right? From what I understand the TPS is only used with automatic trannys so they know when to shift. So it may very well be a Dodge only part.

Re:A little help please

The TPS is used on all 24V engines to control the fuel delivery. The voltage sensed on the throttle position sensor tells the pump how much throttle you are giving. This place says they have them. Give them a call. 1-888-628-3247 for pricing and availability

Re:A little help please

The Throttle Position Sensor on the 12 valve engines was given a fancy name on the 24 Valv-ers. Its the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS).

Its item 18 on this drawing.

Maybe someone can give me a little help here. I think it was about model year '01 when the APPS was relocated inside the cab, below the Go-Pedal? This essentially made all of the throttle signals electrical.

On the earlier 24 Valv-ers, the throttle cable attatched to the bell crank assembly of the APPS. There is also a cruise control cable from the vacuum actuated cruise control servo motor that is located beneath the driver's side battery.

This servo usually had to be replaced if the battery had boiled over very much. So, the newer throttle position encoders located in the cab are a great idea.
