Limp mode problem has me confused

limp mode started intermittently about 6 months ago on my 98.5 24v with an edge comp box. Assumed it to be the MAP sensor so I just unplugged the MAP sensor. Driven it this way for about 6 months with no issues.

This last week it has gone back into limp mode. The difference now is that in blows black smoke and gets up to 3-5psi boost. 'if I hammer down the throttle it will cut off the boost and blow smoke.

I have cleaned all the connector point from the comp to engine. When I plug the MAP sensor back in it still is in limp mode, without all the smoke.

any ideas?

Have you tried replacing the MAP sensor? Use a GOOD one from Dodge or Cummins.
Also take the Edge out of the system until you find the problem, It could very well be the Edge that is causing it.
