Limp mode & code #0606

Truck went into limp mode and the MIL light came on. Keyed the ignition and code # 0606 came up. ECM failure, internal fault. Let it set for 15 minutes and it took off and never recured. Will these ECMs do this a few times before they strand you or should I just replace it? 209,000 on the clock. Twogun

usually they quit all together
the electronics can develop whats called tin whiskers (thank you EPA ) from the lack of lead in the solder then it shorts them out or makes them start doing weird stuff keep an eye on it a new ECM is around $500 +-

cost!

Ecm without program list for $1195. Dealer wants list plus $120 to program. Mopar parts online is $865. Dealer service dept said they will install and program my part so looks like that's the path I'll take. Ouch! Twogun

Do a google search for auto ecm's. You will find several for less than dealer price or even look into the possibility of having yours repaired.

I don't think you can buy new one anymore they are all remans. Did you pull the connectors off and make sure there is no water or corrosion there?

Check the plug on the ECM before you spend any money. t could be loose, or water could have gotten into it.
