lift pump or transfer pump?

lift pump or transfer pump?

is the lift pump and trans fer pump the same thing and where do i attach a fuel pressure gauge this is my first diesel it is a2001 i have asuperchips max microtuner for it it makes great power i get some oslating [rattling] noise after hevy throttel and then it goes away and a un evan idle i was told the lift pump might be weak?help i dont want kill this moter!

welcome to DTR transfer pump and lift pump are the same the lift pump is on the drivers side under the fuel filter just to the rear get a fuel pressure gauge asap before any mods start the pressure gauge can be installed in the bottom of the fuel filter housing or at the IP bottom of fuel filter is prefered location. there are lots of venders who sell FP gauge kits, i like piers.
