I've installed probably a dozen in tank conversions on 98 up to 04.5 trucks. No issues so far, but as I've stated before....I've test drove 2 different trucks (vp equipped) with my fuel psi gauge hooked up and was able to drop the fuel psi down to 1-2 psi at wot. Not saying this is good or bad, just what I've found. I do find the "larger fitting" comments interesting though. Personally with any mods, I would at least like to see 4-5 psi at wot. NAPA should have the replacement (factory type) lift pump you are looking for. We stock one to give the customer the choice.

Timmy it might be cheaper to get a replacement pump hook it in the stock spot than when you get home from your trip move that puppy back near the tank and get the Vulcan kit . A lot of guys reported poor FP with the intank set up. Mine was installed under warr. so I had no choice. I could pull it down to around 5 psi on a WOT. Not good. Now with the Vulcan kit I cant get it below 10 WOT.getting rid of those banjos is the key you eliminate 5 very restrictive fittings.

Yea thats the concern i have with the intank is many report low fuel pressure.. however theres no say on how much its really flowing at that pressure or not. Also if it only idles at say 6 psi instaed of 12psi, how much fuel is being returned to the tank unused, same at WOT.

Maybe they hit the nail on the head by only supplying enough fuel so that theres not as much returning, or hardly any returning to the tank, therefore keeping the fuel in the tank cooler.

Im callin some cummins shops shortly then ordering from that online website a few posts up and doing next day air shipping.

Was able to track down ONE local cummins shop that had the stock pump, was a Freightliner Sterling Western Star dealership.

So now the pumps in and pumping fuel as evidence of my diesel soaked engine compartment due to leaving the fuel line cracked open too much.

Still no start though. I gave up once soaking the engine.. but it wouldnt start after bumping and cracking open the lines and bumping again.. the last time i cracked them open farther and sprayed everywhere.. But anyhooo, tomarro after work ill finish it off.

Neighbors are probably sick of hearing the truck cranking anyways.

Do you usually reset the computer / pull the batteries after doing something like this to give the computer a fresh start?

Started up this morning after a bit of cranking.

13-14psi idle, 12-13psi cruise @60-65mph, 10 wot at end of third gear, may be able to get it to dip to 9psi.

Numbers are using the line towards front of engine, after the fuel filter.

Looks to be runnin a-ok again.

was $154 locally for the pump and wiring harness..

the link mentioned a few posts up i think was 139.

nice thing for me is the time frame and ease of install.. bout 30 minutes to remove due to the moutning bolts on the old one being stripped, and about 5 minutes to install the new one.
