Lift Pump Relay...

I have been told by several people that I should put a relay on my lift pump since it is back by the fuel tank. Anything special to look out for? I am planning to get a 12v 20 amp relay for it.

I'm running a campaign pump relocated by the tank and I've never bother to add a relay... But what kind of pump are you going to run anyways??? FASS or Walbro??? Then I would highly consider it.

You might make sure the fuel pump doesn't start before the engine... Some people have wired in a pressure switch or used the orignal pump leads for signal for the relay.

In any case the VP44 doesn't like to see full pressures during starting...

I am using the original pump but I keep getting codes set saying that my lift pump is showing low return voltage to the ECM.

Sounds like a wiring problem... Bad ground maybe...
